I don’t know if I have ever met my favorite authors, and if I did, I probably would not ever recognize them, but I have met influential musicians in my life, and I said the same thing to them as I would to my favorite author. “Thank you for doing what you do. You bring so much joy to my life.” Simple and not very thought provoking but that is just me.
